The recent earthquakes in Christchurch again demonstrated the sheer force of Mother Nature, with the damage quite unfortunate. New Zealanders are however a resilient group of people and the rebuilding process has been steadfast and positive.
As tragic as the quakes were, it did create an opportunity for a lot of skilled tradesmen to apply their talents in Christchurch and help with the rebuilding phase.
Many recruiters have recently pointed out that the city is in need of skilled migrants in the fields of construction and other trades, and this bodes well from an emigration point of view.
Our thoughts and prayers are however with the people of Christchurch and the rest of New Zealand, as the country pulls together in support of this natural disaster.
